The Coming of the Deliverer and the Destruction of the Antichrist

March 2026

The coming of the Jewish deliverer. After the antichrist assembles “the kings of the whole world” at Armageddon they march south to attack Jerusalem. They gather at the Kidron valley which lies between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives. The antichrist forces are initially successful and take Jerusalem, but their success is short lived for it triggers the day of the Lord. God intervenes in earthly affairs, brings a plague on the invaders, and sends a divine deliverer to conquer the antichrist and his forces.

Zechariah’s description.  Here is how Zechariah describes this momentous event:

1Behold, a day of the LORD is coming, when….2I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle (Zec 14:1-3; my bold).

Prophecy of the antichrist destruction. The Jewish prophets had long predicted this day of destruction that brings the end of the antichrist and the evil forces allied with him. Following are some examples from the Old Testament prophets describing this coming destruction from the Lord of hosts:

4Hark, a tumult on the mountains as of a great multitude! Hark, an uproar of kingdoms, of nations gathering together! The LORD of hosts is mustering a host for battle. 9Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the earth a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it. 11I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant, and lay low the haughtiness of the ruthless. 13Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place, at the wrath of the LORD of hosts in the day of his fierce anger (Is 13:4,9,11,13).

1For behold, the day comes, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch (Mal 4:1).

12For the LORD of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up and high; 17And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be brought low; and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. 20In that day men will…. 21enter the caverns of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth (Is 2:12,17,20-21).

The coming of the Jewish deliverer. The Jewish prophets predicted not only the day of the Lord when God will directly intervene in earthly affairs to destroy the antichrist, but also that He will send a divine deliverer who will bring about this conquest of the antichrist. Following are a few of the Old Testament prophecies that reference this event:

8Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.  9You shall break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel” (Ps 2:8-9).

4he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked (Is 11:4).

5The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. 6He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs over the wide earth (Ps 110:5-6

21For behold, the LORD is coming forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed upon her, and will no more cover her slain (Is 26:21).

In that day the LORD with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent (Is 27:1),

The divine deliverer in Revelation. Here is how the apostle John describes this coming of a heavenly deliverer who conquerors the antichrist and liberates Jerusalem:

11Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems; and he has a name inscribed which no one knows but himself. 13He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. 14And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, followed him on white horses. 15From his mouth issues a sharp sword with which to smite the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron; he will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has a name inscribed, King of kings and Lord of lords.

19And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who sits upon the horse and against his army. 20And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had worked the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur. 21And the rest were slain by the sword of him who sits upon the horse, the sword that issues from his mouth; and all the birds were gorged with their flesh (Rev 19:11-16, 19-21).

The final defeat of the antichrist. Thus, the seven-year domination of the antichrist and his three-and-one-half-year reign of terror is brought to a final end by the coming of a heaven-sent deliverer who defeats and destroys the antichrist and his evil forces.

Conclusion, This concludes episode 63 and the story of the rise, rule, and fall of the antichrist. The next episode will begin a new focus on the Jewish deliverer, the prophecies of his coming, his identity, and the bright new spiritual age he will bring to our dark and backward world.
